final examination preparation plan

The final examination is an important part of a course. Final examination preparation should start at the beginning of the semester, as it is impossible to learn all of the course content in the last few days before an examination. Therefore, students should take some time to think about their final examinations and create a plan for how they will prepare for their examinations.

Here are some ideas for a final examination preparation plan:

1. Read the rules and regulations of the examination

The rules and regulations for each course, particularly regarding the final examination, should be read at the beginning of the semester but keep in mind that this will be the final examination preparation plan. The regulations should indicate the value of the final examination to the overall course mark, whether the coursework also contributes to the final mark, the minimum marks that are required for students to pass each section of the final examination, the time limit for the final examination, any permitted materials during the examination, and whether there is a choice of questions within the examination paper. By knowing these details, students can develop a study plan that will help them to achieve the mark that they want to earn in the course and the final examination.

2. Understand the mark that is required in final examination preparation plan.

Suppose the final examination is worth 40% of the total mark for a course in which the coursework is worth 60% of the total mark. Additionally, the student earned a mark of 78% in the coursework section of the course and the student’s overall target mark for the course is 82%.

The marks in the coursework can be calculated as follows:

(78% × 60%) = 46.8%

Therefore, to achieve an overall mark of 82%, the student must achieve the following mark in the final examination:

82% – 46.8% = 35.2%

The mark required in the examination is 35.2% of the 40% of the final mark. Therefore, the mark in the final examination is 35.2% ÷ 40% = 88%. Therefore, the student must achieve a mark of 88% in the final examination to achieve an overall mark of 82% in the course.

Check what is possible, too. Even with 100% in the final, the highest grade in this example would be 86.8%. If the target was 90%, it would be impossible without some permitted change to the assessment.

A number can replace that hope with a goal.

5. The Final Three Days of the Study Schedule

If you only have three days left before your exam, you will not want to study the same material on each of those days. Each day will be a separate subject and day of study. Three days before your exam, you should determine how much of your subject matter you can answer based upon your syllabus. You can also work on answering some of the past exam questions and determine which concepts you have the most trouble with.

Two days before your exam, you should study the concepts that you are having the most trouble with from the previous day’s study. Additionally, you should study the concepts that require you to provide answers to specific types of questions. Make sure to check all of the work that you do on these concepts.

One day before your exam, you should study the formulas final examination preparation plan that are relevant to your subject. Additionally, you should revisit any errors that you made in previous practice questions for your exam. Finally, you should spend some time on some light practice questions, make sure that you have all of the materials for your exam, and stop studying before you exhaust yourself.

If you have an entire week before your exam, you can use the same study strategy and revisit the concepts that you are having the most difficulty with on more than one day during that week. If you only have one day to study for your exam, you can focus upon the concepts that are the most important and the ones that you have the most difficulty with.

6. Study for Your Exam under Time Constraints

While you understand the material for your exam, you still need to be able to complete that material in final examination preparation planwithin the time that is allotted to you for your exam. If you spend some time on answering questions from past exams within a specified time frame, you can begin to realize how much time it takes to answer those questions. Additionally, ensure that you correctly answer each question in relation to the question itself. For example, if a question asks you to define a concept, provide a definition of that concept. If a question asks you to describe a concept, provide a description of that concept.

If your exam questions contain calculations or ask you to answer questions in that format, make sure that you perform and check your calculations to ensure accuracy.

7. Prepare for Your Exam the Night Before

Before going to bed, ensure that you know exactly where your exam will be and what time it starts. additionally, check that you have your admit card and any identification that you will be required to present before you are permitted to take the exam. Additionally, determine if you will need to have your calculator or any other materials with you when you take the exam. Lastly, determine if you have any transportation to and from the exam site that may require modifications due to unexpected delays.

Before going to bed, prepare all of the materials that you will need to have with you for your exam and final examination preparation plan.

Finally, get a sufficient amount of sleep. Instead of studying for an additional hour before your exam, ensure that you get enough sleep so that you can focus upon the exam the following morning.

8. Create a time plan for your exam.

Ensure that you understand the exam instructions. Check to see which questions are compulsory and which ones are optional. Determine how much time should be spent on each question based on the number of marks allocated to it. If you are struggling with a particular question, skip to the next one and return to it later. Ensure that you allocate a few minutes at the end of your exam to answer any remaining questions or to check your work for any mistakes in either the numbering of questions or your calculations.

While you do not need to know the entire syllabus for your exam, ensure that you know the exam rules and how to plan to achieve your desired grade.

Finally, check that you have fulfilled the following elements of this checklist before your exam begins.
